Oil and Gas Pipeline Integrity and Corrosion Management

Andrew Kendrick, President
Kendrick Consulting, LLC.

Our July Presentation: The recent oil spill at Refugio State Park has brought pipeline corrosion to the public's attention.  This talk will cover the technical issues involved, such as corrosion mechanisms that act on transmission pipelines, along with methods used to detect and mitigate internal and external corrosion.  In addition to corrosion, this talk will include a brief review of the integrity threats and mitigation measures likely to have culminated in the recent oil spill at Refugio State Park.

Our Speaker: With 30 years of professional experience as an engineering consultant, Mr. Kendrick's career began in environmental and geotechnical engineering, including geochemistry, geophysics, and hydrogeology for the U.S. Air Force and the Department of the Navy.  For the last 11 years, as the President of Kendrick Consulting LLC, he has focused his company's attention on pipeline integrity management, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance for the oil and gas industry. Specific areas of compliance include Operations and Maintenance, Integrity Management, Control Room Management, and Operator Qualifications.

This meeting is sponsored in part by Community West Bank

Our meetings are held at the Santa Barbara Elks Club at 150 N. Kellogg Avenue, just off Calle Real in Goleta. Please park on the mountain side of the Elks building and use the front door. SEC meets in the first room to the left. When you RSVP, you can choose either the hot meal option or an endless salad and soup bar. (If you do not RSVP and pay in advance, you may be limited to the salad bar option only.) Both options include drinks and dessert.

From our Co-Presidents:     Plan now and save the date for our August 12 meeting! The presentation will consist of short briefings on high-tech investigations and developments by UCSB "Grad Slam" winners. Click here to review last July's Grad Slam meeting notice. It's a chance to feel good about the future!
