Turning Commercial Buildings into Smart Buildings: Bringing the Internet-of-Things to Smaller Customers

The explosive growth in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) is disrupting the way real estate is managed. For years, large buildings have used building automation to increase operational efficiency and conserve energy--helping to save both the planet and millions of dollars. Unfortunately, owners and operators of small commercial real estate (25,000 square feet or less) have not had access to these benefits because traditional systems are too costly, too complex, and not designed for smaller buildings. Riptide IO solves this problem with its BrightEdge smart building hub and BrightWorks cloud SaaS platform.

Learn how Riptide IO’s solutions are disrupting the $34 billion building automation market by bringing the advantages of low-cost hardware and modern software architecture to the 5 million small buildings in North America.

Michael Franco, Co-founder and CEO at RiptideIO guides Riptide IO through the operational, strategic and day-to-day growing pains associated with an innovative, early phase start up. He has 25 years of experience managing software and real estate development projects in a variety of roles. Under his leadership, Riptide IO has grown from a visionary concept to having nearly 5,000 buildings integrated into the company's products in less than a year and half. This is his fourth technology start-up.
