APRIL 24th, 2018
5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

ANA - Illinois is pleased to offer a new series of educational programs available by webinar!

This CE program (part 1) will provide nurses with specific advocacy skill to address workplace violence in the workplace. To effectively manage this issue nurses must first be aware of the problem and name it for what it is—Bullying and violence.

Nurses will learn about the prevalence and cost of workplace violence, why it still occurs despite common, various strategies to eliminate the problem, and factors that contribute to bullying and violence. Specific strategies will be discussed, such as Four Pillars of Accountability (personal, peer, supervisor, and system); crucial communication skills; use of Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics in setting behavioral standards; and resources available to assist nurses.

This program will be offered in two sessions: part 1- will focus on the causes and effects of incivility/bullying/workplace violence; part 2-will focus on effective responses and resources for reducing and responding to incivility/bullying/workplace violence.

Each 60 minute webinar will include a planned presentation and time for participant questions/discussions. Multiple sessions of both part 1 and part 2 will be offered as both day and evening sessions to ensure access to the offering by members of the intended audience of ANA-Illinois members and members of affiliated organizations, plus LPNs, nonmember RNs, and nursing students.
