Understanding Yourself weekend
Step One, 24th - 26th November 2017, Cratfield, Suffolk
We are very pleased to invite you to our ‘Understanding Yourself’ weekend in Suffolk. This weekend will be of interest to everyone – whatever your age or background.
Why this course?
God wants the whole of who we are. We can only relate properly to each other and to the Lord when we are able to give ourselves away. But many people are strangers to themselves and will live and die without ever experiencing as much as 50% of who they are.
Unfortunately, what we don’t understand and live in tends to disproportionately influence our attitudes and behaviour. We can feel powerless to break patterns and make necessary changes and our relationships suffer as a result – with the attendant stress and frustration.
It doesn’t have to be this way – that is why we have developed a course that enables us to understand ourselves and others significantly better.
During the weekend we will discover:
Who will present the weekend?
John has been in Christian work for over forty years. During that time he has been involved in many aspects of church life but has always had a desire to help people understand themselves and equip them to build meaningful relationships.
He has counselled hundreds of people over the years and developed courses that provide help with and insights into the practical challenges that people face in everyday life.
John has been active in his local community as Chair of Governors of a local school and as a magistrate. With others, he currently leads Halesworth Community Church. He is married to Merle and they have six children – four boys and two girls – and eight grandchildren.
Programme
The course starts on Friday 24th November at 5.45pm with a cup of tea and introductions ready for a prompt 6.00pm start. The weekend concludes by 5.00pm on the Sunday afternoon. We will enjoy farmhouse cooking as well as a fish and chip supper on the Friday evening. The Saturday afternoon will provide an opportunity to walk in the lovely countryside and an invitation is given to attend Halesworth Community Church on Sunday morning.
A full programme will be sent to you nearer the time.
