There is nothing worse than seeing someone you care about struggling with mental or emotional health issues and feeling powerless to offer anything constructive. The purpose of this course is to provide you with an understanding of some of the underlying causes and to equip you with the knowledge that will enable you to give valuable support. We will give insights into how we can help others go beyond simply coping and, in many cases, move into a place of real freedom.

It is important that you have completed at least Steps One to Three of the Understanding Yourself courses, and preferably Step Four as well. The reason is that we will use the insights we gained from those courses and see how they help us in so many practical situations.

Course content 

Some of the subjects we will consider are:

• Depression and anxiety
• Bi-polar
• ME (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome)
• ADHD
• Panic attacks
• Self-harm
• Breakdown
• Handling fear and guilt (false and real)
• The effects of emotional overload on learning

Programme

Arrival time is from 5.00pm onwards on Friday 3rd March with refreshments and introductions at 5.45pm ready for a prompt 6.00pm start. The weekend concludes by 5.00pm on Sunday. A full programme will be sent to you nearer the time. Please click for more detailed information on the course.

 Accommodation

Accommodation is in comfortable holiday cottages at School Farm Cottages. Please let us know if you have any mobility requirements.

Cost

The cost is £130 per person, £220 per couple. A non-refundable deposit of £40 per person or £60 per couple secures your place on the course, with the balance being payable two weeks before the weekend. The non-residential event fee is £80.00.
