Did you know 40% of students rely on free & reduced price meals in the Burleson Independent School District? Many of these students receive weekend backpacks with food items to sustain them over the weekend. When the school year ends, these meals are not available, creating a missing link for their families.
Two organizations provide meal relief programs during the summer in Burleson - Harvest House and Promises Community Ministries - above and beyond their usual Food Pantry services. Last year they provided approximately 1400 sacks of food during the summer months specifically for children.
Pathway’s Red Bag food donation program will support these ministries April - July with food donations aimed at feeding children in need during the summer. The cost to feed one child per week with the items requested is ~ $15.00. If you want to participate, but do not want to shop, make a donation by clicking "Donate Now" and we'll do the shopping for you.
