Regenerative Ag Field Day - Gull Lake

We will start the day off at Pioneer Hall north of Shaunavon with a soil health presentation by Blain Hjertaas and a delicious lunch. In the afternoon we will view a peaola (pea-canola) intercrop, and an ADOPT-funded multi-species mixture for bale grazing. If time permits we will look at some tame forage restoration along a saline watercourse and discuss options for rotational grazing at the site, which features an ambitious conversion to two-strand, wildlife-friendly electric fencing which was completed in 2021 by a Swiss expert in electric fencing.

Karlah Rudolph and Dan Bowler own and operate a family based farm in Southwestern Saskatchewan alongside their young son Kenneth, Karlah's parents Nora and Bill and an amazing team of one full time and three part time employees. With a successful farm succession completed in 2022, we are now directing land management towards improved soil function, rotational grazing practices and the maintenance of native grass stands and natural watershed functions. At the same time we strive for a better bottom line financially and a high quality of life for all involved.
