“Taking Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equality from Theory to Reality” is essential for examining the importance of coming out for LGBT employees, and for learning how we can create safe and supportive work environments, both in the United States and abroad. This webinar is designed for LGBT employees, straight allies, affinity and employee resource groups, and human resources and diversity professionals. The webinar will take place at 1pm PST on September 7th and 14th. Register by visiting www.outandequal.org/training-calendar. The cost is $49.95, or $34.95 for government agencies, nonprofit organizations, schools and groups of five or more.
This course will discuss how to facilitate workplace equality and develop LGBT cultural competency. Part one will focus on the United States, providing the historical perspective of LGBT workplace equality efforts, and identifying the current trends and status of civil rights issues for LGBT employees. Participants will increase their knowledge of LGBT culture, develop a deeper awareness of LGBT issues, and learn how to apply this knowledge to the workplace. In part two, Brian will illustrate the global point of view about LGBT equality at work. Participants will learn important steps to change policy, benefits and workplace climate to include LGBT employees.
“Brian doesn’t pull any punches. He tells it like it is and talks about being LGBT in the workplace with the knowledge and experience to back it up,” said Pat Baillie, Associate Director of Training, Out & Equal Workplace Advocates.
