2012 Event Volunteer Registration

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this exciting event! On Thursday, May 10th, over 750 high school students and teachers from the Cedar Valley will have the opportunity to explore what it means to "be green," and how to engage in a sustainable community. Your assistance is vital to making this a successful event! Below you will find descriptions of the various volunteer opportunities available.

Please carefully read through the following volunteer descriptions as you will be asked to select what you are most interested in on the registration form.

  • Class Guide: (need 40 volunteers)  Time Req. 8:30am - 2:45pm

Class guides will be very important to the success of this event. A class guide will be assigned to each group of 22 students and their teacher and will need to be available for the whole day from 8am-2:45pm. It will be your job to lead this group throughout the day to each of their presentations and assisting the teacher with gathering students together when it's time to move onto the next presentation.

Class guides will be provided with lunch and an event t-shirt that we will ask you to wear during the day to help spotlight our guides and volunteers. This is a great opportunity for those interested in working with students and engaging in their learning experience.

There will be a class guide training session from 8:30 - 9:00 am.              All guides are required to attend training!

  • Presenter Assistant: (need 6-8 volunteers)  Time Req. -Flexible

Presenter assistants will perform a variety of simple tasks that will vary greatly depending on who they are assisting. There are no special skills required, heavy lifting or technical expertise needed for these easy jobs.

You will receive a free event t-shirt to wear for the day to help attendees recognize the volunteers who are part of the program.

  • Check-In Booths: (need 4-6 volunteers)      Time Req. 8:30am - 10:30am

Volunteers will be asked to help at the Presenter, Volunteer, or Teacher check-in booths. Some duties may include escorting presenters to their classrooms and making sure they have items they need for their presentations.

You will receive a free event t-shirt to wear for the day to help attendees recognize the volunteers who are part of the program.

  • Lunch Volunteer:  (need 5-6 volunteers)    Time Req. 10am- 1:30pm

Volunteers are needed to help with food set up and water for participants as they pass through the lunch line, keeping things stocked and orderly. Lunch is coming from Godfather's so there is not much you have to do, just keep things moving basically.

You will receive a free event t-shirt to wear for the day to help attendees recognize the volunteers who are part of the program.
