It is time to come together again as a community!

The last time we convened, the challenges around obtaining and retaining gainful employment were expressed with equal importance across all discussion groups. Based on these conclusions, it was clear a discussion of the underlying causes of high unemployment and the action steps needed to impact employment warrants its own forum. We are excited to host a moderated panel discussion to increase dialogue, learning and co-create action towards increasing employment. The panel will consist of diverse experts from the blind and visually impaired community. We are excited to announce the panel members who will be joining us in our discussion. The panelists are:

  • Don Barrett, 508 Coordinator, US Department of Education
  • Billy Parker, Program Director, Employment Support Services, National Industries of the Blind
  • Tony Stephens, Director of Advocacy and Governmental Affairs, American Council of the Blind
  • Anil Lewis, Executive Director, NFB Jernigan Institute
  • Karla Gilbride, Cartwright-Baron Staff Attorney at Public Justice
  • Kim Arrington, Senior Diversity Officer - Disability Recruitment / Summer College Internship Co-Program Lead, WMATA

We hope you will join us for a lively afternoon of discussion, learning and co-creating solutions to this long standing challenge facing persons with low vision and the blind. Please RSVP by October 31, 2016.
