You are cordially invited to the Winter ENGO Roundtable session of the National Capital Environmental Non-profit Network. Come here what other groups are up to and bring any updates from your own group.
This month we welcome Mike Fletcher of High Spin Consulting who will speak on the topic of:

Better Roughly Right than Precisely Wrong:

Why Accounting is Broken and How To Fix It

An overview of the strengths and weaknesses of accounting and why the information left off of financial statements is often more important than the information on them.

Session description
Financial literacy is an essential skill that is always useful. Regardless of the
organization you belong to, your position there and your job description, understanding
and using the numbers in your reports is a key talent that is useful anywhere in the
world in any capacity.
But while financial reports are an essential tool, there’s lots of stuff that is left out of
them. Accountants need to have backup for their numbers and sometimes financial
systems produce a an exactly documented result but one which is precisely wrong. In
this session Mike Fletcher will give you an idea of accounting from a Triple Bottom Line
point of view so that you are roughly right, and how to use your financial and other
reporting systems more effectively.
This financial literacy session is GUARANTEED to be different from any accounting
training you have ever had in your life! Don’t miss it!

Who is Mike Fletcher?
Maverick accountant, trainer, entrepreneur, consultant, and analyst, I’m a CPA/CGA
with 35 years of consulting experience in all sorts of organizations, profit/non-profit,
private/public sectors, nationally/internationally. For more information on him and his products please go to
