Metaphors are a force for good in any writing as they illuminate and energize characters, settings, themes—anything you want to make clear and concrete in the minds of your readers. Through writing exercises, discussions, and creative methods, we’ll work with the power and energy of everyday objects to enrich stories. We’ll explore other writers’ metaphors, create our own with the support of fellow writers, and apply metaphors to our own writing in versatile ways.
On this Star Wars Day, come learn mind tricks for creating and developing metaphors then integrating them into your writing, with cosmically spectacular results!
In this workshop, you will:
* Play with words and brainstorm metaphors to enrich your writing.
* Develop metaphors that make characters come alive in fresh ways.
* Use metaphors to convey powerful feelings and attitudes about themes.
* Share with other writers to create synergy for your writing.
