July 19th Beginner Silver Smithing Class 

Make cool jewelry in the heat of July... The new  Beginner Silver- smithing  class    will include the instructions for        two   beautiful pieces of          jewelry.You will learn to make   a  pendant and a stone-set ring  during the 4  week class. 
 The class fee is $ 190 per person and includes     all the materials
and use of tools.

The first project helps you master the use of the jeweler’s saw, filing and polishing. We are going to cut a pendant out of sheet silver using the jewelers saw and then file, sand and form it on a dapping block to create a three dimensional shape.  The second  project takes you further in silversmithing  as you learn how to design a ring.This  requires you to learn how to measure  your ring shank, design a bezel for the  stone, how to properly solder the ring  shank and setting of the stone together  and set the stone in the bezel. This will  teach you important techniques in  soldering and further your sawing and  filing skills. You don't need to know  anything about silversmithing to attend  the beginner class. After finishing the beginner class there are further levels of silversmithing you might want to explore. Silver of Oz will be with you every step of the way.
