 Session one: The Lost Art of Spelling: What is the normal progression of        spelling skills?  From attending to sounds to attaching symbols to those  sounds, or phonological processing to the alphabetic principle.

 Session two: The Lost Art of Spelling: Who knew there were rules?      Discovering and practicing the rules for spelling base words.

 Session three: The Lost Art of Spelling: Are there reliable rules for spelling  derivatives?  Discovering and practicing the rules for spelling derivatives

Registration:  $40 for non IDA members; $25 IDA members; $15 for fulltime student

 Register and pay online. After registration has been received a confirmation email will be sent with information concerning parking and location of session on the MTSU campus. Coffee and water, along with a voucher for lunch will be provided.

 Deadline to register for this hands-on professional development is Friday, September 21, 2018.

 Although this session is being provided by TNIDA, the information shared will be of help to all students—not just students with dyslexia, in the building of a strong foundation for spelling, which greatly impacts a student’s writing skills.
