Saturday Evening, October 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Join us on Saturday, October 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a festive reception at the newly-opened Wright House, home to Furniture Masterworks: Tradition and Innovation in Western Massachusetts. We'll cap off the first day of the 2013 ADA/Historic Deerfield Antiques Show with delicious food, Historic Deerfield's special 18th-century "punch," and period music from The Merry Company. Then, you'll get special access to the new Furniture Masterworks exhibition. Historic Deerfield President Philip Zea will provide an introduction to the exhibit in the Wright House, where he will be joined by Curator of Furniture Joshua Lane to answer questions as you tour the exhibition.
Furniture Masterworks: Tradition and Innovation in Western Massachusetts explores western Massachusetts' first 150 years of furniture-making using objects drawn from Historic Deerfield's collections that exemplify the region's signature contribution to American design history and the emergence of a national identity. For more information, visit www.historic-deerfield.org.
Tickets to this merry event are $25 for Historic Deerfield members and $30 for non-members. The proceeds for the reception help support Historic Deerfield's mission of historic education. Don't miss the fun - click on the registration button below to register now!
