Speakers

Alix Edmiston is president of AE Public Relations. As a former journalist, internationally accredited business communicator (ABC) and published author, she brings a unique perspective to business communication. For over 20 years, Alix has been providing communications counsel to leading organizations in the financial services industry. She’s the author of the book Confessions from the Cubicle, a humorous primer for young women entering the work world. Alix’s writing has appeared in The Globe and Mail, National Post, Financial Post and the Toronto Star, and on CBC Radio.

Virve Tremblay is director of communications for NCR, a global technology company with 24,000 employees in 100 countries. She brings more than 25 years of experience in international communications to this role. Virve’s experience encompasses advertising, public relations, marketing, internal communication and executive support. She has managed integrated marketing programs for AT&T/NCR at the country and region level, and developed a global network of in-house PR professionals and contract writers for both NCR and Teradata.

Susan Crossman is the owner and freelance copywriter at Crossman Communications. She worked for three years as a media relations officer for the Ontario Ministry of Health, which entailed researching and writing press releases, speeches and the minister’s briefing notes for Question Period with the media. Susan now works with multi-national corporations and non-profits in different sectors. Her services include speechwriting, sponsor communications, press and event materials, press releases, backgrounders, newsletters, blog posts and more.
