James FitzGerald looked at the attitudes and values of Canada’s ruling class in his first book Old Boys: The Powerful Legacy of Upper Canada College. Revelations of sexual abuse at the school, first published in the book, led to the conviction of three former teachers. His latest book, What Disturbs Our Blood, explores madness and high achievement in his prominent Toronto medical family. It won the 2010 Writers’ Trust Prize For Non-Fiction. Carolyn Morris has been published in Toronto Life, Reader’s Digest, This Magazine, Metro and various business, non-profit, and association publications. She blogs for Yahoo! and has been an associate producer at CBC Radio. She received two honourable mentions at the National Magazine Awards, had one article in Best Canadian Essays 2010, and another in Globe and Mail "best magazine reads on the racks" in 2009. Jennifer Johannesen is an author, blogger and patient advocate. She speaks and writes extensively about her journey through healthcare and special education with her son, Owen, who had multiple severe disabilities and who passed away in 2010 at the age of 12. Krystyna Lagowski is a Toronto-based freelance writer specializing in automotive and transportation issues. Her work has been featured in The Toronto Star and National Post and other print and on-line media.
