Mission Pub Crawl

Hey everyone,

It's finally time for us to visit the Mission again!  Our first Mission crawl was one of my favorites and had an awesome turnout.  The Mission dist which is known for it's dive bars and exotic late-night atmosphere.  Each location has built a successful reputation for being a fun destination throughout the Mission. As always, this is a great opportunity to learn about some amazing drink locations and meet some new awesome people. We'll be sticking to the northern part of the Mission and visit the southern part on a different crawl.

The walk alone is 2.4mi and should take approximately 50min (about the same as the last one).  We're going to be visiting approximately 13 different bars and one taqueria.  I'm planning on spending anywhere from 10-30 minutes in each location depending on if we're just checking it out or grabbing a drink.

We're starting the crawl at Zeitgeist once again.  Please know that Zeitgeist WILL be busy and it WILL be somewhat difficult to find the group.  I'll try to get us a table early on and some sort of placeholder to show where we're located.  We'll officially be re-grouping and gathering at The Armory as it should have more space for the group.

It's important to note that this is the Mission dist and staying with the group or traveling in smaller groups is highly recommended.

Click here to see our Mission crawl - North Mission 12 bars & 2.4mi walking (~50 attendees)

Click here to see our SOMA crawl - SOMA Dist. 13 bars & 1mi walking (92 attendees)

Dress Code: Feel free to dress casually.  We shouldn't be visiting any venues with an extreme dress code but please keep it semi professional... We will be walking a TON so dress comfortable and don't forget to dress warm as it will get cold by the end of the walk!

Parking: The crawl will start at Zeitgeist which is located a few blocks north of the 16th BART Station and we will be ending right near the 16th BART station.  I highly recommend taking BART as cars are broken into quite often in the Mission dist. Please respect the signs and use ParkMe.com if you want to find surrounding parking options.

See the map: Here

Zeitgeist: Zeitgeist is a beer garden that is well known throughout San Francisco for having a unique crowd and awesome beer selection.  Rumor has it they have the best bloody marys in town!

Armory Club:  The Armory Club kitty corners Kink Castle which is a famous venue for bondage type videos.  The Armory Club is a fun swanky bar that provides a dark and mysterious feel.

Nihon: If you are a whisky lover, Nihon offers the largest single malt selection found on the west coast with over 500 selections all available through bottle purchase. All bottles purchased can be stored in a private locker on the premises for future visits. Nihon is renowned for amazing, house made creative whisky and champagne cocktails.

Dear Mom: Dear Mom is one of the most hipster bars in the Mission.  Featuring a fun atmosphere, bicycle parking outside, and an array or random games, Dear Mom brings you a lively Mission based crowd.

Southern Pacific Brewery:  Southern Pacific is one of my favorite places in the Mission.  Located in a huge warehouse, Southern Pacific provides reasonable priced beers and some of the best food I've ever had at a brewery!

Bissap Baobob: "We celebrate the tastes and culture of Senegal in San Francisco's well-known Mission District. Since the doors opened in 1997, we've been sharing our love for friends, food and music with delicious plates, homemade juices, and nightly events from around the world."

Beauty Bar: Beauty Bar is a fun little bar that is a perfect spot if you're looking to let loose and dance the night away.  Beauty Bar was converted from the former dive bar, Sunrest Tavern, which utilized a salvaged interior from a Long Island salon.

Elbo Room: Elbo room is a cool little dive bar that features a live venue upstairs (usually a cover to get up).   The bar itself has comfortable seating, an arcade, and unique flicks featured on a projector screen.

Blondies: Blondies is a unique little bar known for kickass martinis.  There is also a second bar, Blondie’s Wetspot, where you can grab a drink away from the crowd and have a quiet chat with your date or your buddies. They tend to have live bands or DJs but it can get loud quick!

Bring your A-Game and I'll see you soon! (Some things still tentative to change)
