"Making A World Of Difference"  Awards Banquet

Join us for the 10th Annual "Making A World of Difference" Awards Banquet on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Tempe Center for the Arts. This annual Tempe Sister Cities event honors individuals who have made a substantial differrence in people's lives around the globe through their humanitarian efforts. This year's Honorees include Ines and Tracy Allen who founded IMAHelps, an organization that conducts medical and dental missions to Central and South America through cooperation with volunteer doctors, nurses and dentists….Mallory Brown who, as a college student, founded World Clotheline when through her travels she found that disadvantaged people around the world almost never had “new” clothing and receiving something new changed their outlook and their determination….the Flying Samaritans of Arizona who bring medical and dental help to remote areas of Mexico and Central America.  In addition, in honor of the 10^th anniversary several “Young Humanitarians” will be recognized…Milena Carerra and Kayleigh Porritt who volunteered for medical missions through Global Medical Brigades, Amanda Johnson who volunteered  with Missions of Hope in Kenya, and Nickolena Showers who traveled with Growth Interntional Volunteer Excursions to Nicaragua.  All four worked with local children and all four are former TSC youth ambassadors.  In addition “Engineering Smiles,” an ASU group of engineering students will be honored for working to design and produce a mobile dental clinic for Nicaragua.  Their efforts are ongoing and supported by IMAHelps.  All honorees have compelling and amazing stories of help and hope to share.

Meet and greet starts at 6pm, with dinner to follow. Cost is $80 per person.
