Me You and the Child's Perspective - 12/12/18

Presenter: Joshua Cazar, YWCA Parent Educator

Social cognition, or emotional intelligence, plays a major role in a child’s social and emotional development. Therefore understanding what it is and how a child’s environment can affect the development of this skill is important. The most significant development in early childhood social cognition is the development of theory of mind. We will learn about its development during the first five years of life, as well as factors that influence its development, and the consequences of its development for children’s lives at home and school.

Targeted Audience: All Early Childhood & Youth Professionals

Level of  Learning: Introductory
