Building Better Brains - 3/15/18

Presenter: Cheryl Hazek, YWCA Children’s Mental Health & Behavior Specialist

This training will focus on Executive Functioning (EF) skill development for school-aged children ages 6-12.  EF is like the air traffic control system of a child’s brain.  EF is not innate in each child, rather a skill that needs to be developed.  Research indicates that those who have stronger EF skills do better in educational settings, work, and manage their lives effectively.  In addition to learning about EF, this training will also equip you with hands on EF interventions to use with the children in your programs.  You’ll be helping build better brains by promoting the development of each child’s executive functioning.

Targeted Audience: All School-Age  & Youth Professionals

Level of  Learning: Introductory
