Join us for the release party for Allagash Brewing's 2018 Victoria Ale at Victoria Mansion. A Belgian-style ale brewed with white wine grapes, Victoria Ale presents a complex flavor with subtle herbal and vinous notes. Inspiration for Victoria was found in the artwork at the Victoria Mansion where visual references to Bacchus, the Thracian god of wine, brought the idea of introducing grapes to the beer. Proceeds from the brew's annual limited release are donated to benefit Victoria Mansion's historic preservation and education mission.
Held outdoors on the Mansion's private lawn, the event includes free tastings of Allagash ales and other local beverages from Maine Mead Works and Green Bee Craft Beverages. This year, we're pleased to be also partnering with Noble Barbecue to offer our guests fresh, delicious food--after all, what's a party without good drinks and food? Live music from the crowd favorite Jason Spooner Band and tours of Victoria Mansion round out the evening.
Tickets are only $35 ($28 for Victoria Mansion members), and include a commemorative Allagash glass. All event proceeds benefit Victoria Mansion, a non-profit National Historic Landmark. Built between 1858 and 1860, the Mansion is widely recognized as one of the finest examples of Italianate architecture in America. It is even more distinguished for its remarkable interiors, which survive more than ninety percent intact.
Based in Portland, Maine and founded in 1995, Allagash Brewing brews a unique variety of traditional and experimental Belgian-inspired beers made with a dedication to craftsmanship and quality. Victoria Ale has benefitted the Mansion since 2006, and is a cornerstone of Allagash's Community Giving program.
