Welcome to our Outreach Ministry - A Parish Network of Charity
We have many opportunities to serve others who are in need and to bring the love of Christ to them. We invite you to join us. If you would like to participate in any of the projects listed you may sign up to reserve your spaces at the bottom of this page.
You may volunteer for multiple projects. Please be aware of the minimum age required for some of our projects. If the project you are interested in is Closed and you would like to be put on a waiting list in the event spaces increase, please contact us.

October Outreach Projects:
Tailgate Project Saturday Oct 15 (8am - 11am) Cathedral Centre Parking Lot Volunteers will help with our community food distribution. (Volunteers Age 14+ under 18 must be with parent). Each Voluteer is asked to bring a food item.
Bugs and Kisses Project Sunday Oct 16 (9:30am - 10:30am) Cathedral Centre Volunteers will assemble special treat bags for children living in shelteres. Bags will be placed on shelter pillows on Oct 31 to remind them they are loved. (Family Friendly) Volunteers are asked to bring bags of Hershey Chocolate Kisses for the project
Snack Packs Project Sunday Oct 23 (9:30am - 10:30am) Cathedral Centre Volunteers will assemble emergency snack kits for those who come to us hungry. (Family Friendly) Volunteers are asked to bring Juice Boxes for this project
Cookies & Milk Project Monday Oct 17 (7:30pm - 8:30pm) SOH Family Shelter. Volunteers will serve a nutritional night time snack and say goodnight to the families living in shelter. (Volunteers age 10+ under 18 must be with parent) Each Volunteer is asked to bring a food item for this project.
Baby Shower Project Tuesday Oct 18 (9am - 10am) Cathedral Centre Volunteers will help wrap baby gifts for a baby shower for a survivor of human trafficking. (Family Friendly). Volunteers are asked to bring a small new baby gift (for boy)
Blessed Breakfast Project Saturday Oct 29 (8:30am - 11:30am) SOH- New Haven Volunteers will provide breakfast, morning devotion and themed craft to residents living at New Haven. These residents despite their challenges are working to live a life of self sufficiency. (Volunteers Age 18+) Each Volunteer is asked to contribute a breakfast item to share
Stop Hunger Now - Meal Making Project Saturday Oct 29 (10am - Noon) Cathedral Centre. Volunteers will help assemble 10,000 meals for hungry children. (Family Friendly Project) Volunteers are asked to give to our Virtual Food Basket online to help cover the costs of the supplies. 100 meals = $30 Spaces are very limited - register early!
Spooktacular Project Saturday Oct 29 (Two Shifts: 2:30pm - 4:30pm & 4pm - 8:30pm) The Lighthouse Houston. Volunteers are needed to assist with set up and implementation of a Halloween Festival for the visiually impaired at the Lighthouse in Downtown Houston. (Volunteers Age 18+ or 14 with parent). Volunteers are asked to bring bags of individually wrapped candy for distribution. Tasks will include set up of games, crafts and food booths
NOVEMBER& DECEMBER SPECIAL PROJECTS:
Thanksgiving Meal Basket Project (Planning Team): Our Outreach Ministry is looking for a Team of volunteers to help coordinate our parish Thanksgiving Meal Basket project. From Turkey Tags to Orange Bags and collecting the food after Masses to making the meal baskets. We need your help! Contact Us if you are interested in serving on our Planning Team for this project.
Christmas Party for Magnificat House Residents (Planning Team). Our Outreach Ministry is looking for a Team of volunteers to help coordinate this special celebration for 200 residents currently living at the Magnificat Houses. Party will be held on Dec 28th at the Cathedral Centre. Contact Us if you are interested in serving on our Planning Team for this project
RECYCLE YOUR LEFTOVER CANDY!
Please consider giving your unopened Halloween candy to our Outreach Ministry. Your sweets will bring a smile to our homeless friends we serve through our Brown Bag and Snack Packs Projects.
Candies/Treats may be dropped off at the Cathedral Centre Monday - Friday or on Sundays.Candy must be unopened and individually packaged.
Outreach Build a Ramp Volunteers constructed a new wheelchair ramp for one of our long time parishioners - giving her the freedom to leave her home.
Our Brown Bag volunteers assembled 250 brown bag meals for an area soup kitchen. These were distributed to those who call the streets their home to ensure they had an evening meal when food services are closed.
