COMMIT TO PRAYER AND KEEP A TINY HEART BEATING!

Our Spiritual Adoption Program

This Spiritual Adoption Program originated by the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen involves praying that the unborn child you have Spiritually Adpoted will be carried to term and experience the fullness of life as God intended.

After you have read the Spiritual Adoption Commitment (at right) and have completed your Prayer Pledge please begin praying daily the prayer below and continue for 9 months.

What is "Grace"?  Grace is God's Love

A PRAYER FOR BABY (GRACE)...

"Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much.  I beg you to spare the life of (child's name) that I have spiritually adopted and who is in danger of abortion.  Please give to the parents of this child the grace and courage to bring their baby to birth and to the life God has planned for (him/her).

Amen.

The Story of Our Lady of Guadalupe

"That they may have life and have it to the full" John 10:10

Welcome to the Baby Grace project! This is the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart's Spiritual Adoption program for newly conceived babies who are in danger of being aborted. Not all babies are allowed to be born.  In fact more than 4,000 babies lose their lives to abortion each day.  This figures out to be one baby aborted every 20 seconds.  You are being asked to "spiritually adopt" a baby who is in danger of abortion.  Your prayers may be the only hope these babies have to make it to their birth. There are millions of unborn babies desperately in need of our prayers.

The power of prayer is great.  While it is not always possible to see the particular effects of prayer, we know through Scripture that God wants us to pray and we know by faith that He answers all prayers.

An Answered Prayer - A True Story

Our 2015 Spiritual Adoption Program will begin this Mother's Day and will end on Valentine's Day February 14, 2015

We invite you to make a pledge to pray for the unborn and keep  a tiny heart beating.

The Spiritual Adoption Commitment:

  • We ask that you pledge to pray daily for a baby who is in danger of abortion and continue this prayer for the next nine months.  While the child will remain unknown to his or her "Spiritual Parents", God knows who the child is.
  • You are asked to name the child for whom you are praying, thereby acknowledging the baby's humanity. We recommend that you prayerfully discern choosing a Christian name for your child.  Naming the child after a Christian Saint or Biblical Hero is a reminder to you that this child, like his/her Christian namesake is called to  a life of Holiness.  It is also an opportunity for you to ask for this namesake's heavenly intercession on your spiritual child's behalf.  To read more about this CLICK HERE.
  • Please complete a Spiritual Adoption Pledge by clicking on the heart button to the left (top)
  • After you have made your pledge, you will receive a Spiritual Adoption Certificate with the name of your baby
  • A list of all the names of our Spiritually Adopted babies will be listed in our parish bulletin
  • Continue to watch our parish bulletin for monthly reports describing your baby's development.
  • At the end of the nine months our parish will host a Baby Shower to celebrate the gift of life and to bring tangible help to those mothers who chose life for their baby, but still need our help.
  • This Spiritual Adoption Program is sponsored by our Parish Respect Life, Gabriel Project & Outreach Ministries. To contact any of these ministry coordinators please refer to information at bottom of page.

We hope that you encourage others to join us as we pray for the safety of unborn children and their families.   Your family members, friends, co-workers, schools,  classmates, ministries, prayer groups, youth groups, scouts, sports teams and anyone who is concerned about abortion and who is willing to pray for babies in danger of abortion are invited to participate in this program with us.

If you have a large group who would like to participate, please contact us and we will be happy to send you a Baby Grace Spiritual Adoption packet for your group.
