 One-day course that meets the Oregon Health Authority's requirements for renewal of
Cross Connection Specialist Certification. Topics include new regulations, survey techniques, new manuals and publications, resource information, and Specialist safety. Course provides 0.6 CEUs.

Who digs a challenges?

Meter Madness  Join us in the lobby Monday & Tuesday - The fast-paced Meter Madness contest pits competitors against the clock to assemble a water meter from a bucket of parts. Win the chance to compete at The Section Conference in Kennewick, Washington on May 3rd.

Ops Challenge  Bring a friend, or find a new friend Tuesday and compete in the two person Collection Mini-Ops Challenge events. This event has two operators trying to make two cuts on an 8” sewer pipe in the fastest time. Top three teams will win $75, $50, and $25 gift certificates. Each two person team will receive instructions on this brief, simplified short challenge that is designed to give everyone a chance to participate. Grab your partner and join us in the vendor display area Tuesday.

Top Ops  Scheduled for Wednesday afternoon as a technical session - CEU's available. The challenging Top Ops contest tests the everyday know-how of water treatment operators in a "college bowl" format. Win the chance to compete at The Section Conference in Kennewick, Washington on May 5th.

Best Tasting Water Scheduled for Monday, April 3rd at the Red Lion during Fun Night activities – Each year winners of the PNWS Subsection taste tests compete at the Section Conference for a chance to enter the Best Tasting Water Contest at AWWA's Annual Conference and Exposition.  Don't miss this exciting contest and your chance to represent Eastern Oregon at the Section Conference in Kennewick, Washington. 

Western States Equipment Rodeo Scheduled for Monday, April 3rd in the Happy Canyon Area during breaks – Come out and show off your talent as you are timed operating different equipment. Let’s have fun.

Scholarship Information

For individuals lacking funding from their employer/system to attend the 2016 EOR Operators Conference, we have two categories of scholarships available. Each scholarship covers registration fees only.

Greenhorn Scholarship—individuals who have been in the field two (2) years or less, and are not certified water and/or wastewater operators.

Arnie Neely Scholarship—for certified water and/or wastewater operators. Recipients of the Arnie Neely Scholarship are eligible to receive this scholarship every other year.

To be considered for a scholarship please fill out the scholarship application completely and submit it by Wednesday, February 6th.  Click here for the application.

 

Operator & Project of the Year Awards

We will present the Water & Wastewater Operators of the Year recipients as well as the Water & Wastewater Projects of the Year recipients. Do you know of a deserving Operator or Project that you'd like to nominate?
