2018 Human Trafficking Service Provider & Advocates Round Table 

"Effective multidisciplinary teams find that partnerships are the greatest strength in fighting crime and supporting victims". - OVC

Experienced advocates, professionals, and service providers are invited to participate in a 2018 Round Table Event co-sponsored by the Joint Anti-Trafficking Task Force (JATT) and the Michigan Abolitionist Project (MAP).

This networking and informative event is for experienced professionals who are active in addressing human trafficking in Michigan through prevention, education and/or the provision of services to survivors and at-risk populations. The objective of this forum is to increase collaboration and effectiveness of JATT members, partners, and collaborators in SE Michigan by identifying barriers, building relationships, and strengthening partnerships.

The agenda includes:

  • Light Dinner: Sandwich, sides, and snacks provided at 5pm. Coffee, tea, water
  • Polaris Project:  Presentation from Vanessa Chauhan, Strategic Engagement Advisor from Polaris. Vanessa will provide an overview of the National Human Trafficking Resource Database and application process, the 24/7 Hotline, promising practices in the US, Michigan data and trends
  • Task Force Update: Michael Glennon Supervisor of Southeast Michigan Trafficking and Exploitation Crimes Task Force (SEMTEC) 
  • Michigan Legislation and Commission Updates: Kelly Carter Assistant Attorney General and Michigan Human Trafficking Commission Chair 
  • Networking: Upcoming events, opportunity to meet and greet other advocates in the field, information sharing

$20 Ticket price, includes light meal and refreshments

Organizations are invited to bring business cards, brochures or materials to share with the group. A resource table will be provide to share information.
