Two at a Time, Toe up Sock Class

Come join John Dorrenbacher as he leads a group through their very own class in two-at-a-time sock knitting! No double points needed, since we'll be using the magic loop to knit our socks. The class will focus predominantly on creating two small, baby socks as a model for understanding the three major pieces of sock knitting: toe up cast on, short row heels, and a nice, stretchy bind off. These three topics will each have their own class session.

Our first class will meet at 6:00pm on Monday, January 15th and again every week thereafter, for three weeks. Students will be provided with a worksheet which allows space for personal notes and contains the homework assignment for each week. 

Students are encouraged to attempt a pair of adult-sized socks in any yarn they choose alongside the baby socks we will be making in class to further hone their understanding of techniques covered together.

Class dates: 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 6pm-70pm
Skills Req'd: knit, purl, knit in the round, and increase (m1)
Cost: $60 per student until 1/8, $75 per student after 1/8
Minimum students: 2 Sock-a-holics (2 spots taken)
Maximum students: 4 Sock-a-holics

Required materials:

• Approx 1oz of worsted weight yarn
• 40" Us 6-8 circular knitting needle for Magic Loop 
• Removable stitch markers

• Approx 4oz of fingering weight yarn
• 40" US 0-3 circular knitting needle for Magic Loop
