Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Modeling
Guest Speaker: Tara Smith, Chief of the Modeling Support Branch, Department of Water Resources, CA
An introduction to using Hydrodynamic and Water Quality Computer Modeling of the Delta to balance changing regulations and stakeholder concerns. The below is the Bay Delta map and this presentation will feature some of the highlights of the Bay Delta such as:
the hydrodynamics and water quality system of the Delta,
the tradeoffs between a few of the various stakeholders (environmental, urban, agricultural) and
the general description of a few past and recently proposed projects
Speaker Info: Ms. Tara Smith was recently promoted to the Chief of the Modeling Support Branch at the California Department of Water Resources. Prior to her promotion, she headed up the Delta Modeling Section. She is a Professional Engineer having more than 27 years of Delta Modeling Experience with the California Department of Water Resources and having California Professional Engineer. She holds B.S in Engieering from Trinity University (Texas) and M.S. in Civil Engineering from U.C.Davis (California).
