California WaterFix
Guest Speaker: Sergio Escobar, P.E., Department of Water Resources
The presentation provides a summary of the conceptual engineering completed for the California WaterFix (CWF) and an update on the current status of CWF. The CWF will make physical improvements to the state’s 50-year old water delivery infrastructure. The new system will improve, protect and maintain: ecosystem health; water quality; and water supplies so that the SWP and CVP are capable of reliably delivering water within a stable regulatory framework. The current system is outdated and unreliable, and dependent on levees that put clean water supplies at risk from earthquakes and sea level rise.
