Keizer Rapids Park Cleanup: Land Based
WHAT: Join Willamette Riverkeeper for this family friendly trash cleanup event at Keizer Rapids Park during the Spring For Your River Cleanup Series! We will be working in partnership with the City of Keizer, Oregon State Parks, Oregon State Marine Board, Marion County and Salem Kayak Rentals for this land based cleanup. While in the park you'll also have an opportunity to connect with City of Salem, Clagget Creek Watershed Council and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife at their booths located in the park.
WHEN & WHERE: Saturday, April 23 from 10 - 12pm at Keizer Rapids Park. Check in will be located near the Keizer Rapids Boat Ramp. The parking lot is near the boat ramp at the south end of the park. Public restrooms are available.
DETAILS: We'll be working on land at this family friendly event. Pack along water, a face mask to be worn during check in and when working in close proximity to others, work gloves if you have them and sturdy close toed shoes. Trash bags, non-latex gloves and trash pickers will be provided.
RAFFLE: All participants will be entered into a raffle to win a free kayak rental for two from Salem Kayak Rentals, a 100th anniversary blanket from Oregon State Parks or a 12 month parking permit for Oregon State Parks.
MORE EARTH DAY EVENTS: Stick around after the cleanup for a self guided virtual tour of Keizer Rapids Park. The tour will take you on a 1/2 mile loop with 15 checkpoints along the way where you'll learn more about natural features within the park.
