SUMMER READING AND MATH CLASSES 

Elite Scholars STEAM Academy Reading Programs help our young readers develop a love for reading. Our curriculum is designed to give our young readers the strategies needed to be successful in reading. Our Math is designed to help students understand and master basic mathematics. A scaffold approach will be taken to teach students step-by-step  math skills.

Early Reading Program Grades K- 2 

Maximum Class Size: 15 (Class will be filled based on the date of registration for this class. Registration is not complete until the school has received a registration form and payment.)

When: June 11 through July 19 Monday-Thursday each week

Hours: 8:00 am – 11:00 am

Cost: $500 (plus $35 material fee)

Elite Scholars STEAM Academy Early Reading Program helps our young readers develop a love for reading. Our curriculum is designed to give our young readers the strategies needed to be successful in reading. We focus on letter recognition, phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, reading and writing in a fun and quick paced manner.

This class is for students who have weak reading skills and are falling behind in class. In this class, students will learn how to sound out words, develop fluency, and develop spelling and writing skills. We provide individualized curriculum and our research-validated instruction that addresses the cause of poor reading. ESSA can be an ideal setting for students previously diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD and other learning challenges. Register Now

 

Comprehension Reading Program Grades 3 - 8

Elite Scholars STEAM Academy Comprehension reading program focuses on the five essential components of literacy through a balanced literacy approach to teaching. The reading program focuses on phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, comprehension and fluency through reading and writing. Strategies will be taught throughout the program to develop independent readers that will be able to comprehend and infer with information from the text. Our teachers will provide a wealth of lessons and strategies designed to meet the individualized learning needs of each student through a QAR (Question, Answer Relationship) method. Register Now

Elementary Math is designed to help students understand and master basic mathematics. A scaffold approach will be taken to teach students step-by-step explanations for solving problems. Our teachers will provide a wealth of activities for students to build fluency in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Our math program will also teach students the skills needed for problem solving and critical thinking. Elementary Math also teaches number operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, measurement, estimating, ratios, probability and statistics, graphing and other elementary concepts. Our Elementary Math program takes a comprehensive approach in preparing students with confidence for an advanced math class. Register Now

Middle School Math is designed to ensure the foundational elementary math skills are in place. Skills such as number operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, measurement, estimating, ratios, probability and statistics, graphing and other elementary concepts. Our Middle School Math program takes a comprehensive approach in preparing students with confidence for pre-algebra and algebra by offering a balanced focus on computation, process, reasoning and problem solving, so that students can more easily understand the vocabulary and processes that are needed to master pre-algebra and algebra. Register Now
