This course will combine Introduction to the Creed, Part I and Introduction to the Creed, Part II (formerly Introduction to Ecclesiology).
All six class dates must be attended to successfully complete the course.
Introduction to the Creed, Part I will begin to examine the Catholic Faith as presented in the Nicene Creed and Aposltes' Creed. Special attention will be given to God as Trinity, His creation of all things out of love, human beings as made to His image, and the paschal mystery of our Lord Jesus Christ. The debates int he early Church surrounding these core beliefs will also be considered
Introduction to the Creed, Part II (formerly Introduction to Ecclesiology) finishes the examination of the Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed by studying the mystery of the Church as one, holy, catholic, and apostolic in Scripture and throughout history. Special emphasis will be placed on Mary as Mother of the Church, different vocations within the Church, and the role of the Church inthe world.
Instructor: Mrs. Meg Hanlon
Meg is the Theology Chair at Bishop Luers High School, Fort Wayne. She received her Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education from the University of Mount Saint Mary, Emmitsburg MD, and her Master of Arts in Theological Studies from the University of Dayton. Meg is the former the Director of Religious Education at St. Joseph Parish, Fort Wayne having served as such for ten years.
Meg and her husband, John, have four children.
