Teaming up with KaBOOM!, the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation, Marriott International and Beacon House, CPDC is engaging staff, partners, residents, and community members as volunteers to plan for, design, and construct a new, custom playground at Edgewood Terrace. This kid-inspired playspace project reflects an incredible opportunity to work together to build a safe, fun place to play.
We invite you to volunteer for this project, either as an individual or a group (e.g.: organization, college students, civic club, etc.).
Build Day Volunteers needed on Wed. May 21, 2014 from 8:00am – 3:00pm
We need 200 Build Day Volunteers to erect the playground. You will serve on a project team of 8-12 people and work on various projects, like putting the play equipment together; building benches, flower boxes, and trellises; or painting and placing equipment. There is opportunity for everyone and anyone to contribute. No experience is necessary, just the willingness to serve!
CAN'T VOLUNTEER on the May 21st? Join us for a Prep Day!
On May 19-20, 2014 we need 30 Prep Day Volunteers each day from 8:00am – 5:00pm to prepare the space for erecting the playground (e.g. unloading equipment truck, mixing and placing concrete, digging and leveling the ground, separating playground equipment, measuring and cutting wood, etc.). Some building experience is helpful to have on these first two days.
Don't think you'll be able to volunteer, consider donating to the event to ensure we have the tools, food and supplies needed to make it a successful playground build. Visit www.cpdc.org and click on Donate to make any size contribution. It all makes a difference.
We hope to see you in May. Sign up today to guarantee your spot at CPDC’s KaBOOM
