Our Speaker: James Galyean

As the state legislature takes up important education bills involving school choice and parent rights, it is important to learn about our current charter school system in SC and how they are meeting the needs of students and parents. 

JAMES GALYEAN is an accomplished lawyer who has served in DC and in SC at high levels of government and is admitted to practice before the SC Supreme Court and the US Supreme Court.

But he gave this up to pursue a passion for excellence in education.  A native of South Carolina, James recognized the need for an improved educational model in his home state.  So in 2017, James  founded Reason & Republic. Within a few short years, Reason & Republic students were achieving top academic rankings statewide. Belton Preparatory Academy, R&R’s inaugural school, is currently ranked the top performing Title I school in South Carolina.
