Douglas W. Tallamy is Professor and Chair of the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. He is the author of "The Nature of Oaks," "Nature's Best Hope," and "Bringing Nature Home." Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities.

Larry Weaner, FAPLD, founded Larry Weaner Landscape Associates in 1982 and established New Directions in the American Landscape in 1990. He is nationally recognized for combining expertise in horticulture, landscape design, and ecological restoration. His design and restoration work spans more than twenty U.S. states and the U.K., and has been profiled in national publications, including The New York TimesThe Wall Street JournalLandscape Architecture Magazine, and many others. His book Garden Revolution: How Our Landscapes Can Be a Source of Environmental Change (2016) received an American Horticultural Society Book Award in 2017, and in 2021 he received American Horticultural Society’s Landscape Design Award.
