Welcome to 2019 - 2020 Diocesan Youth Event College and Young Adult Staff Application!
With this application you can apply to staff JEYL (Junior Episcopal Youth League) and Happening Prayer Support, and CLEY (Christian League of Episcopal Youth). The dates and desctiptions of these are outlined below.
As you fill out the application, just put a check beside the events you would like to staff. After the application deadline for each event, the adult leaders will review all of the applications for that event and select those who are best suited to staff it. Those people who are selected will be asked to provide additional info (the usual emergency contact and insurance information, etc.) as well as pay the event fee. Remember, if you are not chosen for one retreat, you will still be considered for any other one you checked on your form.
Here are some important dates to keep in mind as you apply:
JEYL (Junior Episcopal Youth League) offers middle school youth from across the state a weekend of fellowship, fun, learning, and worship. It is led by high school students with the help of other adult volunteers and a priest who together plan a program of learning, reflection, and fellowship focused on a specific theme. The weekend consists of talks, skits, small group discussions related to the theme, singing, dancing, worship, crafts, and games. High school students in grades 10-12 may apply to serve as staff alongside a team of adultvolunteers and a priest.
Happening (Prayer Support) Prayer Support are the people who support the Happening weekend through prayer and service, behind the scenes work. Prayer Support tries their best to be unseen and unsuspected all weekend while helping with caritas, praying, putting out placemats, decorating campus buildings, putting on the Agape feast, or bringing snacks and small group projects to cabins. Requirements for Prayer Support:
CLEY (Christian League of Episcopal Youth) is a high school retreat designed to give young people from across the state the opportunity to take a break and draw nearer to God through a weekend of relaxation, fun, and worship. It is led by college students with the help of other adult volunteers and a priest who together plan a program of learning, reflection, and fellowship focused on a specific theme. The weekend consists of talks, skits, small group discussions related to the theme, singing, dancing, worship, crafts, and games.
