What is Dinner and a Movie?
Dinner and a Movie is part of a series of workshops designed to help teachers meet Arizona's Academic Standards by integrating feature films in your classroom while providing meaningful, content rich experiences for your students.
At this workshop we will watch selections of the Warner Bros. 1939 production of The Wizard of Oz, based on L. Frank Baum's classic novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", an allegory for the political, economic and social events of America in the 1890's. We'll hear from University of Arizona professor Price Fishback. Participants will be treated to dinner, take part in activity-based lessons, and hear from experts on monetary policy and central banking. Bring a friend!
