Conference Information
Host/Hostess
Be a part of our team! Volunteer as a Host or Hostess and receive a hostess gift. Duties include greeting attendees, collecting tickets, distributing handouts, collecting evaluations and offering help and assistance to presenters. Volunteers will have a mandatory meeting on Friday at 3:00 pm. Check the appropriate box on the registration form to receive additional information.
Children's Art Exhibit
Be sure to visit our Children's Art Exhibit located in the Convention Center Lobby. This space will be transformed into an art gallery devoted to the wonderful selection of children's artwork representing schools throughout California. This collection has become a highlight of the conference. We encourage you to submit examples of your class projects! All contributors will be given a chance to win a $25 gift certificate.
Volunteers are needed to help with the on-site running of the conference. If you are interested in helping, please check the volunteer box on the registration form. If you volunteer, you get priority registration on the day of the conference! Volunteers who are not registered for the conference are also welcome, but will not be able to attend any sessions.
University Credit
Earn one (1) semester hour of university credit available through the University of San Diego. Course requirements include: Sign up and attend all six (6) sessions, complete a written project (as outlined) and attend three (3) informational and discussion meetings during the conference. Check the appropriate box on the registration form to reserve a space at the orientation meeting and receive additional information.
We are pleased to announce Teacher Awards up to $1,000 each and a paid registration for the 2015 conference. The purpose of the award is to encourage the professional development of early childhood educators and researchers and to benefit students ages four to seven. Our goal is to support teachers in their efforts to create and implement innovative applications of theory with sound, developmentally appropriate practices. The 2014 recipient will be presented with his/her award during the early morning session on Saturday, March 1, 2014, 7:30 am. If you are interested in applying for a Teacher Award, please download the guidelines and application at our website and submit by January 15, 2014.
