John Walker John Walker - the Co-founder and Chief Solutions Officer for Talent Evolution. Getting Started with Internet Marketing Analytics

You’ve launched your email newsletter. You’ve gotten started with Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. And you’re using search engine optimization techniques to drive more potential customers to your website and social media pages. Now what? How do you measure and evaluate it all to determine what’s working and what isn’t? You use email and social media analytics, useful tools that give you valuable insight that can help you improve your internet marketing campaigns over time.

Part 1: Demonstration & Discussion

In the first half of this 3-hour workshop we’ll introduce some of the many internet marketing analysis tools available. You’ll learn how to:

  • Use Google Analytics as well as the reports provided by Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Constant Contact
  • Use third party analytical tools to measure the impact of your social media efforts
  • Establish a framework for measuring the effectiveness of your social media
  • Move beyond measuring simple “Likes” and “Shares” to determine the role that social media is playing in engaging your audience and selling your products or services.

Part 2: Hands-On Lab

The second half of this workshop will be a hands-on lab in which you will:

  • Setup and review Google Analytics key dashboards
  • Select the key indicators to measure the important aspects of your business marketing efforts
  • Build a comprehensive process to track and report on key elements of your marketing strategy including social media and email

Who should attend: Owners and marketing managers of small businesses that are just getting started with internet marketing, or who have already gotten started and want to learn how to measure and evaluate how they’re doing.

Be sure to bring:

  • Laptop computer (not a tablet computer or smart phone) with wireless internet connection
  • Login URL, user name and password for your Google Analytics, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Constant Contact accounts
