John Walker John Walker - the Co-founder and Chief Solutions Officer for Talent Evolution. Getting Started with Facebook Marketing Hands-on Laptop Training

With 57% of American adults using Facebook – and the majority of them visiting the site every day – Facebook is the largest and most popular of the social media networks. It’s also the most multimedia friendly of the big three; members can easily post text, pictures, audio and video. Many small businesses are finding that leveraging the power of Facebook is a cost-effective way to market their products and services to both existing and prospective clients. This introductory course will guide you through building your Facebook business page and getting off to a good start.

Part 1: Demonstration & Discussion

In the first part of this 3-hour workshop we’ll discuss how to:

  • Set up a Facebook business page and why it’s important
  • Obtain a Facebook vanity URL
  • Make the most of Facebook best practices and trends
  • Evaluate the latest Facebook advertising options
  • Create Facebook campaigns to promote a product or service directly from a Facebook business page

Part 2: Hands-On Lab

In the second part of the workshop you’ll be able to get expert assistance working on your own Facebook business page. You will:

  • Optimize your Facebook business page with content, images and logos
  • Add specialized apps, such as those that allow you to integrate your Twitter feed, email list sign-up form or YouTube page into your Facebook business page
  • Make status updates that will encourage follower engagement
  • Assistance in launching a Facebook “Like Us” campaign

Who should attend: Owners and marketing managers of small businesses that want to get started with Facebook marketing, or who have already gotten started but need help making the most of Facebook as a marketing tool.

Be sure to bring:

  • Laptop computer (not a tablet computer or smart phone) with wireless internet connection
  • Facebook login user name and password

We recommend you also bring:

  • jpg files of your company logo, products and two to three other images that are on your website
  • Your standard introduction to your business “About Us” paragraph
