"Professionalism: Staying Within The Lines"

Purpose:

The purpose of this workshop is to provide education and discussion on professionalism and boundaries in the workplace.

Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to identify and discuss professionalism, ethics and boundaries in a healthcare professional setting.
  2. Participants will be able to distinguish between boundary crossings and violations.
  3. Participants will be able to use concepts to apply to case examples of professionalism and boundaries.

Target Audience for All Speakers:

The target audience will be social workers, psychologists, licensed professional counselors, and other mental health therapists or graduate students in those fields. Information will be presented at an intermediate level.

Continuing Education:

Psychology: (2 Ethics Hours) Pine Grove Services is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Mississippi Social Work: 2 CE Hours Ethics (Provider DP #SWB12013) is approved as a provider for continuing education by the MBOE & MFT Approval Period: 08/24/16 through 08/24/18. Social workers will receive 2 CE hours in participating in this course. (Clinical _ / Supervision___ /Cultural Competency___/ Ethics _2__ /General ___)

NBCC: 2 CEH Ethics Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6392. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Alabama Social Work: 2 Contact Hours Ethics (Pine Grove Behavioral Health provider # 0336 through ABSWE)

Louisiana Social Work: 2 Contact Hours Ethics (Clinical: contact hours / Supervision___ /Cultural Competency___/ Ethics _2__ contact hours /General ___). Continuing education credit for partial attendance will not be issued. This program is approved for 3 contact hours by Pine Grove Behavioral Health as authorized by the Louisiana State Board Of Social Work Examiners.

Leah Claire Bennett, PhD
Program Director, Pine Grove's Professional Enhancement Program

Dr. Leah Claire Bennett is a licensed psychologist with the Professional Enhancement Program at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, where she serves as the Program Director. Dr. Bennett is also the Director of Pine Grove’s Professionals Recovery Track, which is designed for the organization’s residential addiction treatment patients who hold a professional license. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Baylor University in Waco, TX and her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Dr. Bennett has worked with the Professional Enhancement Program since 2005 where the focus is working with professionals with vocational and relational issues, maladaptive personality problems, addiction, disruptive workplace behavior and sexual issues. Dr. Bennett’s primary focus is to help professionals who have struggled in a variety of ways return to work in a manner where they are able to engage at their highest potential. She practices an integrative therapy combining elements of interpersonal, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches.
