St. Angela Merici is pleased to help you as an engaged couple to prepare for marriage by offering Pre-Cana, a program that helps those preparing for marriage within the Church. Married volunteer couples share their own experiences of spirituality, values, and practical matters to help engaged couples prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage.

On behalf of the priests of St. Angela Merici and the couples who participate in Marriage Ministry, we welcome you and look forward to meeting you.

Please register online by using the link below. Cost is $85 per couple and can be paid with a credit card or by using PayPal during the online registration process. You will receive a confirmation of your registration via email.

Before you begin the registration process, please review these descriptions of the breakout sessions that will take place on your Pre-Cana day. In these sessions led by a married couple, you will meet with other engaged couples to discuss a topic in marriage. During registration, we will ask you to select your top three breakout choices. Use these descriptions to decide which topics you and your fiance are most interested in discussing during your retreat day. 

Budget and Finance – Learn about the role of money in a marriage, including budgeting and planning strategies and resources 
Friends and In-Laws – Discuss ways to maintain healthy friendships and nurture new extended family relationships 
Family Planning – Learn more about Natural Family Planning’s benefits from practicing couples (resources available) 
Constructive Conflict – Explore ways to approach conflict constructively in your marriage and to disagree lovingly 
Parenting – Discuss aspects of parenting in a marriage, including starting a family, shared responsibilities and decision making, discipline strategies, childcare, and education  
Balancing Life – Explore strategies for maintaining balance in your marriage to include topics like juggling careers, home responsibilities, and children 
Spirituality/Couple Prayer – Discuss the power of spirituality and growing closer in your relationship by sharing your faith through prayer 
Mixed Faith Marriage – Explore the unique challenges faced by couples of different faith traditions enriched by our pastor’s perspectives 
Social Media in Marriage – Discuss the influences of social media in your marriage and strategies to avoid pitfalls in its use
