Cybersecurity Workshop

King County, Region 6 Critical Infrastructure Working Group

Join us on Thursday, December 7, 2017, for the Region 6 Critical Infrastructure Working Group Cybersecurity Workshop. Engage in timely discussions on current cyber threats and how stakeholders can partner together as a region to increase the cybersecurity and resilience of our infrastructure.

The cybersecurity workshop will follow-up on the important lessons learned during the Emerald Down V Cybersecurity Exercise earlier this spring. It will focus on key takeaways from Emerald Down V, including developing and maturing public-private connections, protocols for reporting cyber incidents, and utilizing regional resources that could assist during a cybersecurity incident.

The workshop will include:

  • Overview and discussion of Washington State Cyber Reserve Corps concept, including a showcase from the State of Michigan on how they fostered a corps of cybersecurity professionals.
  • Discussion of cyber incident reporting, protocols, and available regional resources. Learn how situational awareness can make the region more resilient to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Strengthening partnerships between local, country, state, federal, and private sector partners. Planning ahead and working across jurisdictions is critical to ensuring the resilience of the region.
  • Networking opportunities with public and private sector stakeholders. Learn about your interdependencies and find out who you need to know before a disaster.
