Come learn and have fun with us!

Come to Ecobot programming training for teachers!

The Education Foundation of Harris County is proud to announce its upcoming teacher training opportunities for teachers who will lead Ecobot teams at their schools!

Primary focus areas:

  • Discovering general concepts of this year’s game and incentive program.
  • Learning how to engineer with Lego and program with EV3 software.
  • Exploring helpful digital resources that will help your team grow skills in engineering/programming.
  • Developing teams.
  • Completion of 5 CEU Credits

Who should attend?

  • Teachers / Coaches

Spots will fill up fast so please register your attendance ASAP by clicking on the Register Now! buttons.

Important Notes before Arriving:

  1. New Ecobot Teachers who commit to leading teams at their schools will have the opportunity to secure an EV3 robot kit for full participation in this year’s events. This means that first year Ecobot teachers may register and attend training, and be provided with a robot if they do not yet have a robot kit. New Ecobot teachers will be asked to sign a note about participation, and assuring us of payment before March 1, 2016, and in return may take their robots home with them at the end of the day! (limited supplies on-hand)
  2. Returning Ecobot Teachers must come with an EV3 or NXT robot kit. Please pre-assemble the robot prior to arrival at training. If using the EV3 robot, please assemble the EV3 Educator Robot.  If using an NXT, please assemble the Express Bot with the vertical arm attachment and ultrasonic attachment.
  3. All Teachers must bring their laptops. Returning Ecobot teachers may already have the Lego programming software pre-loaded, and we will also have the ability to load the software, at training.

 What should we bring?*

  • Robot kit - NXT or EV3
  • Fully charged robot battery and charger
  • A laptop (no netbooks)
  • Pencil/pen & paper
  • Sack Lunch or visit a nearby restaurant (1 hour break for lunch)

*Your game tables and pieces are not needed at this training.

But wait, this date doesn't work for you? Two trainings are scheduled (teachers only have to come to one!). Go to our website to register for Saturday, October 3! www.ecobotchallenge.com
