Reception - 5:30 p.m. ~ Concert 6:30 p.m.
The Ukrainian Institute of America - 2 East 79th Street, New York City
Seating is Limited - RSVP by March 30

A benefit concert for the Preservation League of New York State featuring gifted young artists performing on rare, antique violins. A program of the League's Excelsior Society with Karen and Clement Arrison and the Stradivari Society of Chicago. Sponsored by William Bernhard and Catherine Cahill and the Gilbert and Ildiko Butler Family Foundation.

The evening’s performers will include: Tim Fain, playing a Francesco Gobetti violin, the “Moller” made in Venice in 1717, Randall Goosby, playing a Giovanni Paolo Maggini violin made in Brescia c. 1600 and Augustin Hadelich, playing an Antonio Stradivari violin, “Kiesewetter” made in Cremona c. 1723.

Mr. Fain, in addition to an international schedule of concerts, played violin on the soundtrack for the recent movie Twelve Years a Slave and also appeared in, and provided music for the movie Black Swan.  Mr. Goosby, at only 18 years old, studied violin at Juilliard under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman and Catherine Cho and in 2011 won the prestigious Isaac Stern Award. Mr. Hadelich, with his poetic style and dazzling technique, has in recent years confirmed his place in the top echelon of young musicians playing in the world today.  They will be joined by Grammy-nominated accompanist Robert Koenig.
