 Bob Ivory, Program Director for Cuyahoga County pilot, Student of Promise, Closing the Acheivement Gap Initiative

Bob Ivory is program director for the Cuyahoga County pilot, Students of Promise Closing the Achievement Gap Initiative. In this role, he provides project management, technical assistance and program development to the Garfield, Maple, Warrensville and Cleveland Hts. / University Hts. School Districts. Bob modified and expanded the program model from its original format from when it was the Governor’s Initiative to Increase the Graduation Rate where he served as Project Manager. The initiative aims to bolster achievement and increase the graduation rate for students of color and others.

Bob was appointed Special Assistant by the first Cuyahoga County Executive and Legislative Liaison to Cuyahoga County Council under the newly chartered County government in 2011. Bob then migrated to the San Francisco Bay area where he launched and implemented the Student of Promise Program in the San Francisco Unified School District. Bob served as Community Outreach Coordinator in the Cleveland Regional Office of the Governor before his promotion to Regional Project Manager in the Governor’s Initiative for Closing the Achievement Gap in 2007.  

Bob is the founder of the Ivory Educational Consulting Group, LLC which aims to aid school districts and learning communities in the implementation of comprehensive strategies to close the achievement gap and increase the high school graduation rate. Bob has served on several boards including San Francisco Back on Track, Executive Committee of the San Francisco NAACP and Northern Ohio Recovery Association. Bob is a product of Cleveland Public Schools and attended Ohio University. Born in Lake Village, Arkansas, Bob is the author of the inspirational book “Bound Upward” and proud father of Timothy, Kyerra, Christopher, Jasmine and Robert Jr.

 

 

 

 

 

2014 CAAO Youth Innovation Forum Final Presentation

The YIF students this year have been working hard to create their company. Seven students between the ages of 11 - 14 years old have come together to work as a team and will present the ideas they have been working on for the last 3 months. CAAO is happy to have Bob Ivory as the keynote speaker.  Bob Ivory is the Program Director for Cuyahoga County pilot, Student of Promise, Closing the Acheivement Gap Initiative.
