Executive Order 13693 – Planning for Federal Sustainability in the Next Decade:
- Mapping Key Mandates to Private Sector Solutions
Purpose
-To provide a CEU accredited forum to examine Executive Order 13693 mandates and discuss how the private sector can support federal agencies with solutions to assist in meeting and exceeding those requirements.
Background
-Executive departments and agencies of the US Federal Government have been among our Nation's leaders in working to achieve a clean energy economy that will sustain our prosperity and the health of our people and environment for generations to come.
-During March 2015, the President signed and published EO 13693 adding more strident sustainability requirements with the intent to increase efficiency and improve environmental performance.
-EO 13693 is complex and establishes aggressive performance goals that not only impact the Departments and Agencies of the Executive Branch but the Federal Supply Chain as well.
Objectives – 90-minute forum
-Part I
To conduct a moderated panel discussion involving leading federal government and private sector experts who will examine EO 13693 mandates and private sector solutions in the areas of greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, net zero buildings, and sustainable acquisition.
-Part II
To provide an audience comprised of approximately 75-100 design officials the opportunity to query the panel on EO 13693 requirements, prospective private sector solutions, and how they can be applied by federal agencies.
