It’s six months into 2021 – how’s your development plan going? Whether you have a plan or need one, this session is for you. Marci will review key elements of a strong development plan, secrets to managing the plan successfully and how to pivot when new obstacles or opportunities arise… hello, pandemic and fire!

With so many ways to raise money, your fundraising plan allows you to identify which options are best for your specific organization. Your plan will keep you focused as new distractions, opportunities and obstacles surface during the year. Marci will walk us through best practices of a successful development plan, including:

Identifying fundraising sources
Setting goals
Completing action steps
Building a timeline
Including staff and volunteers

Presenter

Marci Atkinson has a wide range of experience in development operations as well as fundraising techniques, including grants, major gifts, direct mail and events. As Director of Philanthropy at St. Helena Hospital Foundation, she oversees development operations raising $5-7 million annually. Prior to St. Helena Hospital, Marci was Director of Development for Aldea Children & Family Services (a multi-county mental health and foster care organization), where she collaborated with staff and board to increase overall private fundraising revenue by more than 150%, led a major website re-design and built a social media and online fundraising presence.

Marci is current Vice President and former President of AFP WCC, and also serves on the steering committee for 100 Women Who Care About Napa County. Dedicated to furthering the professionalism of the fundraising sector, she received her CFRE in 2018.
