Energy Modeling for the LEED 2009 Energy and Atmosphere Credit 1

Presentation Summary:

Please join us for the ASHRAE lunch meeting on September 24th for a presentation by Bob Feduik, PE, LEED AP, East Regional Manager, Carrier Software Systems.

During the last 10 years, the use of energy modeling in building design has grown significantly.  This growth has been fueled by rising energy prices, a renewed interest in building energy efficiency and the increased application of the LEED rating system.  In the LEED rating system, Energy and Atmosphere (EA) Credit-1 "Optimize Energy Performance" is the focal point for building energy efficiency issues.  Of the three approaches to this credit, the one requiring energy modeling offers the greatest potential for rating points.  Success in achieving those rating points depends in large part on a sound understanding of the Performance Rating Method outlined in ASHRAE Standard 90.1 Appendix G.  The goal of this seminar is to enrich each attendee's understanding of the Performance Rating Method so it can be more successfully applied to building energy models for LEED projects.

Lunch will be served during the presentation.
