Ursuline Academy's Second Annual Summer STEAM Camp

Seventh- and eighth-grade girls will experience a variety of STEAM activities: 

Archimedes, Engineering Design, 3D Drawing and Printing  Use your engineering skills and Archimedes' principle to design a boat.  Will the boat your team draws and prints in three dimensions meet the challenge?  Could it be the best in camp?

Chemistry in the Kichen  Discover the science behind cooking and baking.  Want to learn chemistry?  Walk no further than the kitchen to learn the inside scoop as you treat yourself to the chemistry of culinary arts!

Discovering Data Science  Find out how flying gummy bears, leaping dolls, and mixed-up goldfish can introduce you to the wonderful world of probability and statistics.  Learn how to collect and analyze data and make predictions based on patterns and probabilities.

Incident at 341 South Sappington  Use observational and laboratory skills to analyze blood, fingerprints, fibers, hair, fur, and an unknown powdery substance to determine if a crime has taken place and, if so, who did it. 

UAtog  Use your iPhone, Android phone, iPad or iPod Touch and learn how you can use it to transform yourself into a real photographer!  Learn the ins and outs of digital photography and so much more.

Robotics  Be a robotic engineer for a week and learn to build and program robots to avoid obstacles and meet various challenges as a part of the Camp Champ robotics team.

Discovering Similarities Between Engineering and Dance!  Explore the engineering design process to discover how simple machines move and then represent these movements through dance.  Working in pairs, students will create their own dances - each inspired by the movements of a different simple machine.  Communicating these results is just as important in dance as it is in science and engineering.  Each student will receive a video of her work to share with family and friends!
